Folded feelings - Jasmine B

For my exhibition I chose origami. I chose origami because I needed to manage my time and follow instructions better. Origami helped me with following instructions and time management because I needed to follow the instructions to make the origami and manage my time so I don't waste my time and keep track of my google meets. During the exhibition there were many times where I did not show up to google meets and did not manage my time wisely but I have improved my time management and following instruction skills throughout my exhibition.

My artistic piece shows my journey as a learner throughout the exhibition. The puddle in my art shows the feeling of being lost and sad. The three cranes show my skills of time management, following instructions and origami improving. In my art you will also notice that the last crane and the second last crane aren’t fully made or they are broken, that is because they show my failed attempts and first attempts so they show my attempts that weren’t perfect and weren’t good because you need to fail before you succeed.

My artistic piece is connected to my exhibition because it has symbols that show elements in my exhibition. The puddle shows when I feel lost and am unsure of what to do. The cranes show improvement in my exhibition and times that I have failed but not giving up.

Power of Laziness - David L

For my exhibition I chose coding since I’m two things, I have some experience coding and a lazy slacker. Though, I can do coding and I don’t struggle with it much, I am super lazy and lack persistence. It's like knowing exactly how to do something but knowing that you can do something else like play video games. Managing self and perseverance were ATLs I worked on

I’m living in the “now” with no regard to the future. I don't care about the future because of the godly power of LAZINESS. I can have fun now knowing that I’m in for a ride later, now that isn’t good. I need to focus on the long run.

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When your dad buys you a computer, you get overly lazy and play video games. Exhibition isn’t any different. What I learned is you get time, but you need to learn how to spend it.

We all face challenges - Tisha S

My exhibition is about time management as I am not very good at it and my learning vehicle is cooking. I know cooking will help me learn how to manage my time better and it will also help me learn how to be a better cook so I can help mum at home. The challenges I faced were sometimes not knowing when to flip the omelet or the pancakes and going to the store every other day. So in order for me to overcome my challenges, I did the recipe over and over till I found it successful. I also found the recipes for the week so I can go at one time and not multiple times to the supermarket . I also faced a lot of challenges in my time management skills like when I am boiling potatoes I can start making the sauces instead of waiting for the potato to boil as it saves more time. As 2 weeks passed I learned a lot of cooking tips like when you chop an onion and don't chop it all the way through so it’s easier to chop in smaller pieces and I also learned that it is easier to get burned, sticky, oily food out of the dishes if you soak it in warm soapy water. These tips save a lot of time and are much more convenient. I also practiced them so I wouldn’t forget everything after the exhibition.

The artistic piece that I made is based on the journey of my cooking experience. The burning pan shows me at the start and the pan that has an omelet shows me that I improved, I did not give up and it shows my learning journey. The arrow shows me from one point to another.

Some connections between my artistic piece and my exhibition are that I improved over a period of time, I learned from my mistakes and my time management skills improved. I also learned that we should never give up.

Stairs - Charlie M

For my exhibition I chose to do organisation since I’m very forgetful and its very important that I’m a good organiser for year 7 or its going to be hard and stressful when you need to remember things all the time. Also I choose organisation because if i get a job it will be even more important to remember things. I got lots of tips during my journey.

What i did to work on my organising skills is to organise events for people to join, all though at home doing home school was more challenging but a good challenge since i have too be more organised, so that was a bit of a boost for me. I would interview teacher including busy people E.G Mr.Bilny, Mr.Beach for tips on how they are organised.

My symbolic piece is me walking up stairs which the stairs represents the planing process to do an event. once you get to the first floor that’s an attempt for me. the top of the tower is my whole exhibition. I’ve gone through a very hard and stressful idea for an exhibition, but its almost over now but not through my lifetime.
